Vanguard Group Inc. announced that Ken Volpert, the head of investments for Europe and global head of fixed income indexing, will retire in August.

He took up the positions in 2014.

Paul Malloy, head of fixed income in Europe, will take up Alwine's role.

Christopher Wrazen, manager of the Vanguard Total International Bond Index Fund, will move to manage the bond index group in Europe.

Josh Barrickman, head of fixed income indexing for the Americas, will become sole portfolio manager of nine funds, including the Vanguard Total International Bond Index Fund.
