U.S.-based supply chain software provider JDA Software Inc. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Blue Yonder GmbH, a German provider of Artificial Intelligence services for retailers, for an undisclosed sum.
The deal is expected to close in August, subject to competition agency approval. Blue Yonder CEO Uwe Weiss will join JDA Software's Operating Committee, and founder Michael Feindt will retain a role advising the companies.
The acquisition "will enable customers to deliver more autonomous, profitable business decisions throughout their extended supply chains," JDA Software CEO Girish Rishi said in a statement.
Warburg Pincus LLC previously made a $75 million equity investment in Blue Yonder in 2014. Otto Group GmbH was another early investor in the AI company.
