Canadian payments company Nuvei completes acquisition of British peer SafeCharge

Canadian payment technology firm Nuvei Technologies completed its acquisition of U.K.-based SafeCharge International Group Ltd. for roughly $889 million.

The transaction creates a global payment solutions provider, with headquarters in Montreal, Quebec, that will fully support payment solutions to clients and distribution networks. Nuvei said the deal will further strengthen its payment technology and is aimed at accelerating the growth of the combined organization.

Meanwhile, SafeCharge has applied to the London AIM stock exchange for the delisting of its shares, expected to come into effect Aug. 2.
