First Solar's net income declines in Q3'19

First Solar Inc. on Oct. 24 reported net income of $30.6 million, or 29 cents per share, in the third quarter, compared with $57.8 million, or 54 cents per share, in the third quarter of 2018.

The S&P Global Market Intelligence consensus GAAP EPS estimate for the quarter was $1.12.

Operating income for the quarter totaled $41.3 million, compared to $58.5 million a year ago.

Year-to-date bookings totaled 5.4 GW DC.

The solar panel manufacturer also reported net sales of $546.8 million, a decrease from $676.2 million in the corresponding quarter of 2018.

First Solar affirmed its 2019 full-year guidance of $2.25 to $2.75 per share.

The company raised its operating income guidance to between $320 million and $370 million from between $290 million and $340 million.
