Membership-based warehouse retailer Costco Wholesale Corp. is looking to start a fresh groceries delivery service in Canada, the Financial Post reported March 13, citing Costco Canada spokesman Ron Damiani, who confirmed the news.
Damiani said the company is looking at sites from where it will deliver fresh grocery orders, but Costco has not set a definite timeline for the initiative.
The move comes after Costco experienced an "early success" in its online food delivery services in the U.S., the report added.
Costco also expanded its partnership with Instacart for fresh groceries deliveries. Instacart has a partnership with Loblaw to deliver fresh online grocery orders in Vancouver and Toronto, the report said.
