Adjuvant Cosme Japan fiscal Q1 profit falls YOY

Adjuvant Cosme Japan Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 20 amounted to ¥15.85 per share, a decline of 33.3% from ¥23.77 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥125.0 million, a decrease of 31.7% from ¥183.1 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 11.7% from 16.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue decreased year over year to ¥1.07 billion from ¥1.11 billion, and total operating expenses increased from the prior-year period to ¥866.0 million from ¥830.0 million.

Reported net income decreased 40.5% from the prior-year period to ¥102.6 million, or ¥13.01 per share, from ¥172.5 million, or ¥22.39 per share.

As of Aug. 1, US$1 was equivalent to ¥102.47.
