Liberty Health to acquire 75% of US cannabis license holder

Toronto's Liberty Health Sciences Inc. agreed to acquire 75% of Massachusetts-based William Noyes Webster Foundation Inc. for $16 million.

The foundation has an integrated medical cannabis license in the U.S. state, operating a dispensary and a cultivation and processing facility in Plymouth nearing completion.

Liberty Health said the transaction, which is expected to close in May, expands its footprint in the U.S. to Massachusetts. The acquisition remains subject to governmental approvals, and follows similar deals in the U.S.
