Mandom fiscal Q1 profit falls YOY

Mandom Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 amounted to ¥43.23 per share, a decrease from ¥44.49 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥2.02 billion, a decrease from ¥2.08 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 10.3% from 11.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 9.2% on an annual basis to ¥19.65 billion from ¥17.99 billion, and total operating expenses increased 11.9% year over year to ¥16.34 billion from ¥14.61 billion.

Reported net income came to ¥2.10 billion, or ¥44.98 per share, compared to ¥2.10 billion, or ¥44.93 per share, in the year-earlier period.

As of Aug. 8, US$1 was equivalent to ¥101.85.
