Univision Communications Inc.'s Fusion Media Group LLC is expanding into Latin America through a deal with Grupo Televisa SAB to launch the 24-hour Spanish-language cable network FUSION MX.
FUSION MX will be run by Grupo Televisa and feature local programming that will be distributed across around 14 million Mexican households, with the potential for additional distribution across Latin America.
Grupo Televisa also will acquire the rights to launch Mexican editions and publish content from Gizmodo Media's sites, including Deadspin, Gizmodo, Jalopnik, Jezebel, Kotaku, Earther and Project Earth, and TrackRecord.
