Japan's posted a current account surplus of ¥2.010 trillion in July from ¥1.176 trillion in June. The figure was down from ¥2.347 trillion in July 2017, preliminary data from the country's Ministry of Finance showed.
Exports increased 6.2% year over year to ¥6.771 trillion following a 9.3% rise in the preceding month. Imports climbed 16.6% year over year to ¥6.772 trillion in July following a 4.9% gain in June.
The country posted a goods trade deficit of ¥1 billion in July from a trade surplus of ¥820.5 billion in June.
