Apex Foods fiscal Q1 profit climbs YOY

4915920 said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended Sept. 30 was 2.35 taka per share, a gain from 2.29 taka per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 13.4 million taka, a gain from 13.0 million taka in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 1.2% from 1.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined 10.1% on an annual basis to 1.11 billion taka from 1.23 billion taka, and total operating expenses decreased 10.4% on an annual basis to 1.08 billion taka from 1.20 billion taka.

Reported net income declined 8.1% year over year to 5.2 million taka, or 91 poisha per share, from 5.6 million taka, or 99 poisha per share.
