FuelCell Energy Inc. announced April 5 an agreement with PSEG Long Island LLC to supply a substation with power from a SureSource 1500 fuel cell plant. The project is part of the Clean Renewable Energy Feed-In Tariff II program.
The fuel cell will be located at an industrial site and will help reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 3,300 tons annually and decrease nitrogen oxides by five tons annually, FuelCell Energy said.
Separately, PSEG Long Island issued a 40-MW RFP for fuel cells, for which FuelCell Energy submitted bids.
