KP Tissue profit misses consensus by 34.7% in fiscal Q3

KP Tissue Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Sept. 25 was 14 Canadian cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 21 cents per share.

The per-share result swung to a profit from the prior-year loss of 17 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was C$1.3 million, compared with a loss of C$1.5 million in the year-earlier period.

Reported net income totaled C$769,000, or 8 cents per share, compared to a loss of C$2.0 million, or a loss of 22 cents per share, in the year-earlier period.
