Konica Minolta fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

Konica Minolta Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, came to ¥16.55 per share, a decrease of 16.4% from ¥19.80 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥8.22 billion, a decline of 17.5% from ¥9.96 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 3.2% from 3.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue totaled ¥255.08 billion, compared with ¥255.30 billion in the prior-year period, and total operating expenses increased on an annual basis to ¥241.70 billion from ¥239.07 billion.

Reported net income rose 25.5% on an annual basis to ¥9.16 billion, or ¥18.44 per share, from ¥7.30 billion, or ¥14.51 per share.

As of Feb. 5, US$1 was equivalent to ¥117.16.
