Unum Group's board authorizes $750M share buyback program

Unum Group's board has approved the repurchase of up to $750 million of the company's outstanding common stock until Nov. 23, 2020.

The new buyback program replaces the previous stock repurchase of up to $750 million which will expire Nov. 24.

Under the authorization, buybacks may be made in the open market or in privately negotiated transactions, including accelerated share repurchase transactions. The timing and amount of repurchases will be determined by management depending on market conditions and other considerations.
