Volkswagen's Chinese JV recalling over 130,000 Audi cars in China

Volkswagen AG and its Chinese joint venture with China FAW Group Corp. is recalling 130,462 Audi AG Q3 vehicles in China due to an incorrect software configuration, Xinhua News Agency reported Sept. 1, citing a statement to the country's State Administration for Market Regulation.

The recall affects certain Audi Q3 models manufactured in China by FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co. Ltd. between Dec. 2, 2015, and March 29, 2019, the news agency said.

The recalled vehicles reportedly carry potential safety risks due to faulty configurations with the diagnostic software between the vehicles' body control modules and LED light drivers.

Xinhua said FAW-Volkswagen will upgrade the affected software, free of charge, the report added.
