Ramboda Falls PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 amounted to 5 Sri Lankan cents per share, a gain of 39.4% from 3 cents per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 968,370 rupees, an increase of 47.4% from 656,940 rupees in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 5.4% from 4.4% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 19.5% year over year to 17.9 million rupees from 14.9 million rupees, and total operating expenses increased 21.1% from the prior-year period to 15.6 million rupees from 12.9 million rupees.
Reported net income increased 58.6% year over year to 1.3 million rupees, or 6 cents per share, from 811,980 rupees, or 4 cents per share.
As of Aug. 15, US$1 was equivalent to 130.18 Sri Lankan rupees.
