Masco Corp. said its third-quarter normalized net income came to 47 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 52 cents per share.
EPS climbed 18.6% year over year from 39 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $148.0 million, a gain of 14.0% from $129.9 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 7.6% from 6.9% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed year over year to $1.94 billion from $1.88 billion, and total operating expenses grew year over year to $1.64 billion from $1.61 billion.
Reported net income increased 10.5% on an annual basis to $145.4 million, or 46 cents per share, from $131.6 million, or 40 cents per share.
