Ghana-based Royal Bank names CEO, acting chairman

Ghana-based Royal Bank Ltd. appointed Osei Asafo-Adjei managing director and CEO, effective Jan. 16, Citi Business News reported Jan. 25.

Asafo-Adjei, who previously served as executive director of corporate banking at HFC Bank (Ghana) Ltd., replaced Robert Kow Bentil, who retired from Royal Bank in August 2016.

The lender's board of directors, meanwhile, named Lawrence Newton Adu-Mante acting chairman. Adu-Mante, whose appointment took effect Dec. 1, 2016, took over from Kofi Koduah Sarpong, who vacated the position in November 2016.
