Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended March 31 came to 23.98 Indian rupees per share, a gain of 7.7% from 22.27 rupees per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 778.4 million rupees, a gain of 7.7% from 722.8 million rupees in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin dropped to 14.0% from 14.4% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 10.9% year over year to 5.55 billion rupees from 5.00 billion rupees, and total operating expenses rose 10.9% on an annual basis to 4.46 billion rupees from 4.02 billion rupees.
Reported net income increased 7.6% on an annual basis to 868.9 million rupees, or 26.77 rupees per share, from 807.6 million rupees, or 24.88 rupees per share.
As of May 8, US$1 was equivalent to 63.83 Indian rupees.
