Candor Midstream begins service on SCOOP-to-Texas gas gathering pipeline

Private equity-backed Candor Midstream LLC opened for commercial service its rich gas gathering pipeline system carrying gas from Oklahoma's SCOOP play to markets in North Texas.

The SCOOP-to-North-Texas pipeline system is made up of approximately 100 miles of 20-inch gas gathering pipeline and runs from Carter County, Okla., crosses the Oklahoma-Texas border, and ends near processing facilities in Bridgeport, Texas. It has an initial operational capacity of up to 200 MMcf/d.

The gathering system is expected to help ease takeaway constraints in the SCOOP and provide regional producers with access to processing and NGL markets in north Texas, the company said in a Sept. 24 news release.

Candor bought the pipeline system in January and has since then made several upgrades, such as additional pipeline monitoring capabilities.

The Houston, Texas-based energy company secured an initial venture capital commitment of $200 million from EnCap Flatrock Midstream in August 2018. Candor provides midstream services to oil and gas producers across the U.S.
