Bic Camera fiscal Q2 profit falls YOY

Bic Camera Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Feb. 28 came to ¥19.35 per share, a decline of 11.2% from ¥21.78 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥3.63 billion, a decline from ¥3.74 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 1.7% from 1.7% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue decreased 5.6% year over year to ¥210.07 billion from ¥222.57 billion, and total operating expenses declined 6.0% year over year to ¥204.10 billion from ¥217.22 billion.

Reported net income decreased 10.1% year over year to ¥3.48 billion, or ¥18.54 per share, from ¥3.87 billion, or ¥22.51 per share.
