Som Distilleries & Breweries Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 came to 1.14 Indian rupees per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 1.78 rupees per share.
EPS climbed 20.5% year over year from 95 paise.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 31.4 million rupees, a gain of 20.4% from 26.0 million rupees in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin dropped to 7.2% from 7.5% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 25.7% on an annual basis to 435.0 million rupees from 346.0 million rupees, and total operating expenses rose 24.8% from the prior-year period to 379.7 million rupees from 304.4 million rupees.
Reported net income fell year over year to 33.5 million rupees, or 1.22 rupees per share, from 34.6 million rupees, or 1.26 rupees per share.
As of Nov. 14, US$1 was equivalent to 61.73 Indian rupees.
