S&P Global Market Intelligence presents an overview of board changes at European financial institutions. The changes are listed by announcement date in reverse chronological order.

March 2

* MFB Hungarian Development Bank Zrt. said Koppány Lélfai's mandate as a board member has been terminated, effective Feb. 28.

* JSC Qazaq Banki said Mirlan Tashmetov and Bakhyt Ibrahim have been excluded from the lender's board of directors.

March 1

* Schroders Plc said Philip Howard will step down from its board after nine years at the end of its April 26 annual general meeting.

* Gregor Stewart and Mark Gregory joined Direct Line Insurance Group Plc as nonexecutive directors, effective immediately.

* Hranilnica LON d.d. Kranj said supervisory board Chairman Srecko Kenda has resigned from the post for personal reasons.

* Moneysupermarket.com Group Plc named Sarah Warby a nonexecutive director, effective June 1 subject to regulatory approvals. Between 2012 and 2017, Warby served as marketing director of retail company J Sainsbury PLC.

Feb. 28

* Munich Re Co.'s HSB Engineering Insurance Ltd. appointed Jeff Herdman and Craig Scarr as chairperson and an independent nonexecutive director, respectively, Reinsurance News reported. Herdman currently serves as nonexecutive director at Swansea Building Society, while Scarr is currently a nonexecutive director as Tokio Marine HCC.

* Aon Plc named Dominic Christian as global chairman of Aon Benfield. Christian, who has served as executive chairman of Aon Benfield International since 2013 and was most recently CEO of Aon UK Ltd., will continue to report to Aon President and CEO Gregory Case in his new role.

* Due to business commitments, Maria Dolores Dancausa will depart from her role as an Esure Group Plc nonexecutive director at the end of the firm's May 17 annual general meeting.

* Sabre Insurance Group Plc appointed Andy Pomfret as an independent nonexecutive director. Pomfret also currently serves as nonexecutive director at Sanne Group Plc, Miton Micro-cap Investment Trust Plc and ICG Enterprise Trust Plc, among other appointments.

* National Bank of Greece SA said Petros Sabatacakis resigned as an independent nonexecutive board member.

* Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group Plc said Lynne Peacock will join the firm as a nonexecutive director, effective May 1.

* Cathryn Riley was appointed a nonexecutive director of AA Plc, effective Feb. 28. She currently serves as chair of the firm's AA Insurance Services Ltd. arm.

* Fiske Plc said executive director Alan Meech has decided to retire and consequently resigned from the company's board.

Feb. 27

* Direct Line Insurance Group said Andrew Palmer will step down as a nonexecutive director and will not stand for re-election to the board during the company's May 10 annual general meeting. Palmer has been with the board for seven years.

* Alexander Körner resigned from Varengold Bank AG's supervisory board, effective March 27. The lender said it will appoint by court a successor for Körner shortly.

* Swiss Life Holding AG said Gerold Bührer will resign from the board at the company's April 24 annual general meeting, having reached the statutory age limit. Martin Schmid will be proposed to the shareholders for election.

* Lentzas Sophocles and Nakis Basil joined the board of Cooperative Bank of Thessaly following the departure of Papaefthimiou Konstantinos and Siafarikas Dimitrios.

* LfA Förderbank Bayern appointed Josef Bayer a board member. Bayer joined the state-owned lender in 2016.

* Volksbank Mönchengladbach eG board member Rainer Corsten retired.

Feb. 26

* Upon completion of Liechtensteinische Landesbank AG's acquisition of 100% of LB(Swiss) Investment AG, Natalie Epp will become chair of the new entity that will result from the deal, LLB Swiss Investment AG. Other board members will be Bruno Schranz and Hans Stamm.

* Lorraine Trainer will retire from the board of Jupiter Fund Management Plc, having joined the board in May 2010. She will continue to serve as a nonexecutive director until the firm's May 16 annual general meeting.

* National Bank Trust PJSC said its shareholders elected a new board of directors, which includes the lender's management board Chairman Nikolay Mylnikov, Alexander Myamlin, Alexander Pakhomov, Alexander Poluyanov, Anatoly Predtechensky, Alexander Sokolov and Mikhail Chamrov.

* The elections committee of Norwegian Finans Holding ASA will propose at the bank's next general meeting that Bjørn Østbø be named chairman, replacing Bjørn Kise. Østbø's term of office will last until the lender's 2020 annual general meeting. He also serves as board member in investment manager Folketrygdfondet and health trust Helse Bergen.

* Nearchos Petrides resigned from the board of Cosmos Insurance Co. Public Ltd due to "increased professional engagements."

* Banco BPI SA co-opted Maria de Fátima Henriques da Silva Barros Bertoldi as a member of its board.
