FERC allows Utah municipal utility group to acquire wind farm

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on March 1 approved Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems to acquire the 57.6-MW Horse Butte wind farm in Bonneville County, Idaho.

The facility became operational in August 2012 and is interconnected with the transmission grid owned by the Bonneville Power Administration.

The output is under a long-term power contract with Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems, which is an interlocal association and a political subdivision of the state of Utah.

The wind farm is 0.01% owned by Forsyth Street Renewables I LLC and 99.99% by Citibank NA acting as a tax equity investor, according to a filing. (FERC docket EC18-48)
