Enel SpA recorded fourth-quarter 2017 group net production of 65,406 GWh, a drop of 2% year over year, according to an annual operating report released Feb. 28.
The Italian energy giant booked 3,101 GWh of production in its North and Central America segments. Despite a 5% year over year decrease, North and Central American wind assets produced 2,242 GWh, accounting for 72.3% of production in the North and Central America group during the fourth quarter of 2017. North and Central American hydro produced 823 GWh, or 26.5% of the group's output during fourth-quarter 2017, while the "other renewables" category produced 37 GWh, or 1.2%.
For full year 2017, Enel SpA's total group net production declined 5% to 249,876 GWh.
The North and Central America segment reported a decrease of 20% year over year to 9,794 GWh in 2017 net production. Hydro assets in Enel SpA's North and Central America segment produced 2,681 GWh in 2017, while wind production totaled 6,920 GWh and "other renewables" produced 192 GWh.
