Japan industrial production gains 1.4% in March

Japan's seasonally adjusted industrial production rose 1.4% month over month to 104.1 in March, higher than the preliminary estimate 1.2% increase, revised data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry showed May 16.

Shipments rose 1.2% from February, while inventories climbed 3.3%, and the inventory ratio was up 2.7%.

The seasonally adjusted operating ratio edged up by 0.5% to 102.4 from February.
