RSK Group Ltd. acquired Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd. with funding from London-based private equity firm Ares Capital Europe and a revolving credit facility from NatWest.
With the transaction, terms of which were not disclosed, RSK becomes the largest, most profitable provider of archaeological services in the U.K. by turnover, according to a release.
Headland's leadership team, including managing director Tim Holden, will join RSK as part of the deal, and the acquirer's archaeology and heritage business will merge with the target company's consultancy team.
RSK provides environmental, health, safety and ground engineering consulting services, while Headland provides heritage and archaeology services to the development and construction sectors.
