President Donald Trump continued to oppose AT&T Inc.'s proposed takeover of Time Warner Inc., saying that the merger is "not a good deal for the country," Reuters reported Nov. 21.
While noting that he is not "going to get involved in litigation," Trump said before leaving for Florida from the White House that he believes the deal will lead to higher prices for users in the U.S.
The statement comes after the U.S. Department of Justice filed a lawsuit Nov. 20 to block AT&T's $106.40 billion purchase of Time Warner.
Before the November 2016 election, Trump said his administration would block the AT&T/Time Warner transaction, and since the election, Trump has repeatedly tweeted about his active dislike for CNN (US).
