Liberty Mutual forms global transaction solutions group

Liberty Mutual's global risk solutions business unit placed its M&A insurance services into its newly created global transaction solutions group.

Global transaction solutions will act as a stand-alone business group. It will offer representations and warranties/warranty and indemnity, tax liability, tax credit and contingent risk insurance services.

The group's creation will not change the current contacts M&A brokers and buyers have with Liberty Mutual. Effective Jan. 1, 2019, the group will write M&A business for Liberty Mutual's Lloyd's of London Syndicate 4472 and Liberty company platforms.

Until that time, the group will continue to write M&A business for the Syndicate 4000 and Ironshore Inc. company platforms.

Rowan Bamford will lead the group as president of global M&A. Tom Cartwright will be head of tax, William Lewis will serve as head of Asia-Pacific, Gareth Rees will act as head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and James Swan will be head of the Americas.
