Amazon offers delivery service to Australian sellers

Amazon.com Inc. started offering its in-house delivery service to third-party retailers in Australia, three months after launching in the country, Reuters reported Feb. 27.

Merchants reportedly can have Amazon pack and ship their products through its program called Fulfillment by Amazon, or FBA. The e-commerce company is running its Australian operations in a warehouse outside Melbourne.

Amazon will take responsibility for FBA deliveries and shipping, which it will operate through the government-run Australia Post, the report added.

Reuters said Australia Post declined to comment on the matter.

The company's Amazon Prime subscription service will launch in Australia by the middle of 2018, the report added.
