Veolia Energy completes sale of 265-MW gas plant in Massachusetts

Veolia Energy North America Holdings Inc. completed the sale of its entire stake in the 265-MW Kendall Square gas-fired plant in Cambridge, Mass., to investment funds managed by Antin Infrastructure Partners.

The facility, whose combustion turbine unit began operation in December 2002, is operated by Kendall Green Energy LLC.

According to S&P Global Market Intelligence data, the deal is part of Antin Infrastructure Partners' $1.25 billion acquisition of Thermal North America Inc. from the Paris-based Veolia Environnement SA. The business of Thermal North America comprises steam, hot and chilled water and electricity production plants and 13 networks in 10 cities in the U.S.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission signed off on the deal in October 2019. (FERC docket EC19-121)
