Shimamura fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

Shimamura Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Nov. 20 amounted to ¥189.99 per share, compared with ¥191.75 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥6.98 billion, compared with ¥7.05 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 5.4% from 5.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed on an annual basis to ¥130.52 billion from ¥125.41 billion, and total operating expenses rose year over year to ¥119.79 billion from ¥114.53 billion.

Reported net income totaled ¥6.73 billion, or ¥183.15 per share, compared to ¥6.76 billion, or ¥183.89 per share, in the prior-year period.

As of Dec. 26, US$1 was equivalent to ¥120.44.
