Barclays taps former French finance minister for advisory role

Barclays Plc said it hired former French Finance Minister François Baroin as an external senior adviser for its investment banking business in France, Reuters reported March 6.

Barclays hired Baroin to advise on acquisitions in the country, a "source familiar with the matter" told the news agency.

Baroin served as France's minister of economy, finance and industry between June 2011 and May 2012.
