Ya-Man fiscal Q1 profit climbs YOY

Ya-Man Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended July 31 came to ¥4.82 per share, an increase from 1 sen per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥281.3 million, a gain from ¥625,000 in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 6.3% from 0.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 36.6% on an annual basis to ¥4.49 billion from ¥3.29 billion, and total operating expenses rose 21.8% on an annual basis to ¥3.99 billion from ¥3.28 billion.

Reported net income came to ¥277.0 million, or ¥4.75 per share.

As of Sept. 11, US$1 was equivalent to ¥120.63.
