Australia's Woolworths posts 26.5% dividend increase

Australian retailer Woolworths Group Ltd. posted a half-year dividend Feb. 23 that was 26.5% above the amount it paid one year ago.

The New South Wales-based company said its dividend for the 27 weeks ended Dec. 31, 2017, was 43 Australian cents, up from the 34 cents it posted for the first half of 2017.

The company also reported comparable sales in its Australian food division that were up 4.9%.

As of Feb. 23, US$1 was equivalent to A$1.28.
