Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. named Roh Tae-moon as its new mobile head as part of the company's annual senior executive reshuffle, according to various media reports, citing a company statement.
Roh previously served as head of mobile development at Samsung, Reuters reported.
The South Korean company's new mobile unit head replaced Koh Dong Jin, who will continue to to serve as head of IT and mobile communications division.
Cheun Kyungwhoon, head of Samsung's network business, will become president.
Kim Ki Nam and Kim Hyun Suk have retained their positions as vice chairman and head of device solutions unit and head of the consumer electronics unit, respectively, Pulse reported.
The company also selected Hwang Sungwoo, vice president of Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology, to become the head the Samsung Group's research and development hub, adds Pulse News. Meanwhile, Choi Yoon Ho, vice president of business support task force team, was promoted to president. Park Hark Kyu, executive vice president of business operations at the IT service affiliate of Samsung SDS, will lead corporate management at Samsung Electronics' semiconductor business.
