Sensor data platform startup Samsara Networks Inc. secured a new $100 million investment from its investors Andreessen Horowitz and General Catalyst Partners.
The funding brings Samsara's total capital raised to $230 million and values the company at $3.6 billion, according to a Dec. 28 blog post.
Samsara will use the funding to accelerate growth, broaden its international presence and scale its sales and support teams. The company plans to hire 1,000 new employees to drive these growth initiatives.
Samsara combines wireless sensors with cloud-based analytics to support industries including transportation, logistics, construction and manufacturing industries.
