Medtronic units close $2B debt offerings

Medtronic PLC disclosed the closing of offerings related to $2 billion of senior notes issued by its units.

The company's unit Medtronic Global Holdings SCA issued $1 billion of 1.700% senior notes due March 28, 2019, and $850 million of 3.350% senior notes due April 1, 2027.

Interest on the 2019 notes will be paid semiannually in arrears on each March 28 and Sept. 28, starting Sept. 28, 2017. Interest on the 2027 notes will be paid semiannually in arrears on each April 1 and Oct. 1, starting Oct. 1, 2017.

The notes are fully and unconditionally guaranteed by Medtronic PLC and Medtronic Inc.

In addition, Medtronic Inc. issued $150 million of 4.625% senior notes due March 15, 2045. Interest on the notes will be paid semiannually in arrears on each March 15 and Sept. 15, commencing Sept. 15, 2017.

The 2045 notes are fully and unconditionally guaranteed by Medtronic PLC and Medtronic Global Holdings SCA.
