Dai-ichi Life makes management changes

Dai-ichi Life Holdings Inc. made some changes to executives in the company and its units.

The company said Norimitsu Kawahara, an executive officer, will step down as chief general manager for Asia Pacific to assume the role of chief of the international life insurance business unit.

Kawahara will replace Tomohiko Asano, who in turn replaces Kawahara as chief general manager for Asia Pacific.

Toshiaki Sumino, an executive officer, will step down as chief of the corporate planning unit to become chief general manager of North America, while Hiroshi Shoji, a managing executive officer, will step down as chief of the actuarial and accounting unit.

Satoru Sato will step down as managing executive officer of Dai-ichi Life and will become a representative director and president of Dai-ichi Life Information Systems Co. Ltd. He will also be treated as a managing executive officer of Dai-ichi Life Insurance Co. Ltd.

The group also named Jyunichiro Joyama as a director and vice president of Neo First Life Insurance Co. Ltd., while Takahiro Shibagaki was named representative director and vice president of Dai-ichi Frontier Life Insurance Co. Ltd. Both will be treated like an executive officer of Dai-ichi Life.

In addition, Tetsuya Kikuta was appointed managing executive officer in charge of the asset management unit, Tsuyoshi Kawamoto was appointed executive officer in charge of the IT business process unit and Hidehiko Sogano was named executive officer in charge of specific assignments in the international life insurance business unit.

Meanwhile, Kyoichi Saito will step down as executive officer of Dai-ichi Life. He will continue to be an executive officer of Dai-Ichi Life Insurance.

Sato and Saito will step down from their current roles, effective March 31. All other changes and new appointments are effective April 1.
