Chevron taps Subsea 7 for St. Malo field subsea installation services

Chevron Corp. subsidiary Chevron U.S.A. Inc. awarded Subsea 7 SA a contract for subsea installation services at the St. Malo field in the Gulf of Mexico.

The work scope includes project management, engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the multiphase pump system at the field, a 14-mile water injection flowline system and the water injection control system. Financial details were not disclosed.

Offshore operations will start in 2021, according to a Dec. 20 news release from Subsea 7.

In September, project operator Chevron said it will boost production in the field.
