STIRR to launch live election news channel

Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc.'s free, ad-supported streaming service, STIRR, will launch a new channel that will be dedicated to live 2020 election events.

Launching this week, the 2020 LIVE channel will offer a stream of live election coverage, including town hall meetings and stump speeches, according to a Jan. 21 news release.

STIRR also plans to offer post-broadcast on-demand viewing of some of its syndicated shows, such as "Judge Judy," "Dr. Phil" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." The company will launch the service in the first quarter, with TV shows becoming available to viewers dependent upon the city a viewer is located in.

STIRR offers 100 linear channels and more than 5,000 hours of video-on-demand content.
