Monno Ceramic Industries fiscal Q2 profit falls YOY

Monno Ceramic Industries Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, came to 3 poisha per share, an increase of 18.3% from 2 poisha per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 581,250 taka, compared with 585,630 taka in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 0.3% from 0.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased year over year to 189.3 million taka from 180.7 million taka, and total operating expenses climbed 5.6% on an annual basis to 175.3 million taka from 166.1 million taka.

Reported net income came to 620,000 taka, or 3 poisha per share, compared to 739,000 taka, or 3 poisha per share, in the year-earlier period.

As of Jan. 30, US$1 was equivalent to 77.44 taka.
