Khee San fiscal Q1 profit climbs 10.7% YOY

Khee San Bhd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended Sept. 30 came to 1 Malaysian sen per share, a decline from 1 sen per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 793,750 ringgits, an increase of 10.7% from 716,880 ringgits in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 2.6% from 2.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 20.7% on an annual basis to 30.2 million ringgits from 25.0 million ringgits, and total operating expenses climbed 19.9% on an annual basis to 27.5 million ringgits from 22.9 million ringgits.

Reported net income grew year over year to 1.0 million ringgits, or 2 sen per share, from 1.0 million ringgits, or 2 sen per share.

As of Nov. 28, US$1 was equivalent to 3.38 ringgits.
