Netflix, Japanese studios strike anime co-production partnership

Netflix Inc. is partnering with Japanese anime studios Production I.G Inc., Wit Studios and Bones Inc. to co-produce anime series and stream them in 190 countries, Anime News Network reported.

The partnership is the streaming giant's latest attempt to ramp up its animated content.

In October 2017, Netflix CFO David Wells said the company is looking to spend up to $8 billion for programming in 2018.
