Nomura Holdings Inc. said June 14 that there was unauthorized access to its overseas subsidiary's desktop network as a result of phishing.
Some client and employee information was accessed following a phishing incident at Instinet Europe Ltd.
There is no indication that the unauthorized access continues and no evidence that the attacker accessed Instinet's execution and clearing systems.
Nomura said it is investigating the issue and has contacted relevant authorities. Steps have been taken to protect Instinet's ongoing operations.
