ENGIE SA on March 8 posted full-year 2017 EBITDA of €9.3 billion, compared with 2016 EBITDA of €9.5 billion.
Despite the 1.8% year-over-year decline in EBITDA, the company described its results as up a "sharp 5.3% on an organic basis," and attributed the decrease to the disposal of merchant assets in the U.S. in February 2017 and June 2016, among other factors.
EBITDA for the North America segment was €169 million in 2017, down from €475 million in 2016.
The French energy giant reported increased full-year total revenue of €65.0 billion from €64.8 billion. Cash flow from operations in 2017 was down to €8.3 billion, compared with €9.6 billion in the prior year.
The company said net income, group share totaled to €1.4 billion, compared with a loss of €400 million in 2016.
ENGIE also initiated guidance for 2018 net recurring income, Group share, excluding the exploration and production segment and LNG, of between €2.45 and €2.65 billion. The company announced a higher dividend for fiscal year 2018 of €0.75 per share.
