New York-based snacks and soft drinks giant PepsiCo Inc. plans to build a business service hub in Hyderabad, India, The Times of India reported Sept. 13, citing sources.
A company spokesperson confirmed plans for the 380,000-square-foot site, which would become PepsiCo's largest hub outside the U.S. It will house functions including human resources, finance, supply chain management, consumer insights and digital solutions.
PepsiCo will reportedly recruit 2,500 people over the next three years and has already hired 200 people. The site is set to formally open within the year and will be located in the city's corporate campus, IT SEZ Laxmi Infobahn.
According to sources, the site will be led by Priyaranjan Jha. Most recently, Jha was senior vice president and led robotic process automation at professional services firm Genpact Ltd.
