Fast Retailing Co. Ltd. on March 2 said same-store net sales of its Uniqlo apparel chain in Japan rose 5.1% year over year in February.
Uniqlo Japan attributed the increase to strong sales of winter clothing and new spring collections.
The number of customer visits to Uniqlo shops rose 0.2% in February and 4.2% year-to-date for the 12-month period ending Aug. 31, 2018.
In February, average purchase per customer increased 4.8% year over year.
The apparel chain also noted that it closed two stores in February.
