Right On Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended Aug. 20 amounted to a loss of ¥11.51 per share, compared with a loss of ¥21.39 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥313.1 million, compared with a loss of ¥581.3 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin rose to negative 1.7% from negative 3.4% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 11.3% on an annual basis to ¥18.77 billion from ¥16.87 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 8.4% year over year to ¥19.25 billion from ¥17.76 billion.
Reported net income totaled a loss of ¥693.0 million, or a loss of ¥25.48 per share, compared to a loss of ¥685.0 million, or a loss of ¥25.21 per share, in the prior-year period.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥52.25 per share, a gain of 38.1% from ¥37.84 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥1.43 billion, a gain of 38.3% from ¥1.03 billion in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue increased on an annual basis to ¥78.23 billion from ¥75.85 billion, and total operating expenses increased on an annual basis to ¥75.84 billion from ¥74.09 billion.
The company said reported net income increased 76.2% on an annual basis to ¥742.0 million, or ¥27.16 per share, in the full year, from ¥421.0 million, or ¥15.43 per share.
